Our mission is to provide students with an enriching and rewarding educational experience. To achieve that mission, students are immersed in the language and culture of our international program sites. This is accomplished through housing with local host families, language classes, excursions, and cultural activities. Sol Education Abroad was founded under the principles of promoting cultural understanding and the lifelong study of foreign languages. We place emphasis on the importance of learning about the unique cultures and people in each of our carefully selected program sites.

Our vision is to be a leader and innovator in education abroad programs. We strive to provide a complete foreign experience by carefully creating quality language programs, activities, and excursions that are of lasting cultural value.

• Tuition

All programs include tuition and registration costs. Semester programs include tuition for four classes. Additional classes may be added at your request.

• Housing

All academic programs include housing with a local host family. Living and sharing your experience abroad with a host family is one of the highlights of studying overseas. This can be the most enriching and lasting aspect of studying in a foreign country. Many students often maintain relationships with their families well after their stay has concluded. Our families are carefully selected and interviewed, and have been hosting students for many years.

• Meals

All meals are provided by your host family (three meals per day). This is a great way to spend time with your family and experience the local cuisine. While traveling on weekends, you can request that your family pack you a snack or lunch. Please make sure to let us know about any special dietary needs you may have. For the Argentina program, 2 meals a day are included and you will have lunch at the university.

• Orientation

When you arrive at your study abroad destination, our on-site staff will provide you with a welcome orientation. This will cover important topics such as health, safety, academics, host families, cultural awareness, and end with a city tour.

• Pre-Departure Advising

Sol Education Abroad is always available to answer any questions you may have. All members of our staff are bilingual and can provide information based on their own experiences abroad. Before you embark on your program, you will receive a full pre departure handbook to prepare you for study abroad experience!

• Airport Transfers

Ground transportation to and from your program city is included on the established dates.

• Reception & Farewell Event

We feel that it is essential to receive you in your new city with a welcome reception in order to meet other participants and your directors. And of course, a farewell dinner is provided as a chance to say goodbye and celebrate your new experience.

• On-site Staff

Sol Education Abroad realizes the importance of knowledgeable, friendly, and well-trained on-site staff. We are available 24/7 to assist you with whatever needs you may have. Our goal is to ensure that you are as comfortable as possible while abroad.

• Tutoring

In order to provide the best academic assistance possible to our participants, on-site tutoring is available for all language needs. We want to ensure that you have all of the tools available to maximize your academic experience while abroad

• Excursions

Excursions are a fundamental part of the abroad experience. Sol Education Abroad carefully selects weekend excursions that allow you to discover more about the country in which you are studying. Excursions are selected based on cultural and educational importance or sites of natural beauty. Entrance and transportation fees are always included.

• Cultural Activities

A major aspect behind our site selection process is what the location has to offer the student. Cultural activities are an integral part of the Sol Education Abroad experience, and allow you further exposure to the language and culture of the site.

• Volunteer Opportunities

We encourage you to consider volunteering during your study abroad program. Sol Education Abroad will assist you with any volunteer work you would like to perform, such as soup kitchens, after-school care, or any other local service-oriented program.

• Language Exchange

One aspect of our language program is interacting with locals. Sol Education Abroad strives to create cultural and language exchange opportunities at each of our sites.

• Transcript or Certificate

You will receive a university transcript or certificate upon completion of your program. Sol Education Abroad maintains an original document in our offices in the event that you need a copy in the future. We will send the transcript or certificate to any university or post-graduate program along with a translated letter describing the coursework completed and grade earned.

• Language Placement Exam

Sol Education Abroad programs require a language placement exam. This exam may be administered on-site or pre-departure. Your performance on this exam determines the classes for which you are eligible
