Study Abroad & Spanish Immersion in Granada, Spain
Granada is one of the most ancient and diverse cities in Spain. Explore the narrow, cobblestoned streets of the former Muslim quarter, the Albaycin, wander the passageways of the Alhambra, or enter the white-washed caves of the Gypsies and experience the passion of a flamenco performance. Study abroad with Sol Abroad in Granada for the experience of a lifetime.
Students will study at the prestigious University of Granada and earn university credit (for our SUM II & III programs). Our SUM I students will study at IDEA, one of Granada's premier language schools located in the historical center. Take Spanish Language classes in the historic section of Granada. Sol Abroad provides quality academic support and assistance while you are on your study abroad program.
Each of our programs offers a homestay with a local Sol Abroad host family. This is the best way to experience true immersion (language and cultural) while abroad. We've found that many of our students call their homestay "the single most enriching and lasting part" of their journey.
World-class excursions are included in your study abroad program price and are a fundamental part of the abroad experience. We carefully select weekend excursions that allow you to discover more about the country in which you are studying and are based on cultural and educational importance or sites of natural beauty.
All of our programs include cultural activities during the weekday afternoons. These activities are designed to accentuate the unique character of the country and make your stay the richest experience possible.
Volunteer and community service work while abroad is an excellent way to give back to the community and develop a deeper cultural understanding of the program location. For our Gap Year & Semester students, during the semester program we periodically have volunteer opportunities available. If this is something that you are interested in please ask us for more information. Past opportunities have included helping out at a local food bank or assisting with English classes. Also, as part of the Gap Year & Semester program at the University of Granada's Center for Modern Languages, you can choose to take an internship course as one your classes.
